Eastern Economic Forum 2024
The Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) is an international forum that has been held annually since 2015 in Vladivostok by order of the President of the Russian Federation. The event discusses the development of the economy of the Far East and the expansion of international cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region. The EEF includes plenary sessions, round tables, panel sessions and other events dedicated to various aspects of the region's economic development. The Forum also provides participants with an opportunity to establish business contacts and discuss prospects for cooperation.
In 2024, the EEF will be held from September 3 to 6. The forum will bring together representatives of business, government and the expert community from Russia and other countries to discuss current topics and problems related to economic development in the Far East. Among the forum participants are heads of state, heads of major companies, investors and experts in various fields. Among them: Tatyana Bakalchuk, founder of Wildberries, Mikhail Karisalov, Chairman of the Management Board of Sibur, Vitaly Mutko, CEO of Dom. RF” Vitaly Mutko, Director General of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov, Director General of ‘Rosatom’ Alexei Likhachev, President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergey Katyrin, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Alexander Kozlov, Governors of the Sakhalin region, Kamchatka and Perm Krai, Ambassador of the Republic of India to Russia, Chairman of the Chinese Association for the Development of Enterprises Abroad and others.
The main theme of the EEF in 2024 is “The Far East - 2030. Joining Efforts, Creating Opportunities”. Business events are divided into seven thematic blocks:
- New Contours of International Cooperation,
- Technologies of Independence,
- Financial Value System,
- Far Eastern Russia,
- People, Education and Patriotism,
- Transportation and Logistics: New Routes,
- Master Plans: from Architecture to Economy.
The program of the Eastern Economic Forum 2024 also includes business dialogues of Russian entrepreneurs with partners from China, India and ASEAN countries. In addition, the second International Forum “Falcon Day” will be held on the starting day of the EEF. The BRICS Creative Innovations Forum, the APEC International Conference on Cooperation in Higher Education, and the Future Day youth program will also take place.
The regions of the Far East will traditionally present their achievements at three exhibitions:
- The exposition of the Ministry for the Development of the Far East. Interactive master plans of Far East cities, key information on industrial and infrastructure projects in various sectors, existing preferential regimes and new mechanisms, as well as social initiatives and digital services for citizens and entrepreneurs.
- FOIV “Welcome to the Far East!”. The stand demonstrates advanced technologies of various industries, innovative industrial projects implemented with the support of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade. The exposition includes more than 40 enterprises and companies of machine-building complex, robotics, digital technologies for industry, as well as innovative medical developments.
- Far East Street. On the embankment of the Far Eastern Federal University campus, representatives of the region will demonstrate the achievements, uniqueness of culture, customs and cuisine of the Far East. There will also be a presentation of the economic potential of the Far Eastern regions.
