EXPO 2030 may be held in Moscow

The capital of Russia is on the short list of countries competing for the right to host the World Expo. Muscovites learned about it thanks to the Ostankino Tower, on which the illumination with the Expo 2030 symbols and colors of the Russian application was launched.

The contenders are selected by the International Bureau of Exhibitions. Among the competitors who are competing with Moscow for the right to become the exhibition capital of the world in 2030: Busan (South Korea), Rome (Italy), Odessa (Ukraine) and Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).

The World Expo is one of the few major world events that has never been held in Russia. If it wins, the capital hopes to attract more investments and create new jobs. By the way the place for the traditionally large-scale exposition is already chosen: it will be developed in the New Moscow near the Vnukovo airport.

We remind you that Expo 2020 was postponed due to the pandemic, and is now taking place in Dubai.
